The exhibition was built around two primary ideas: to create a visual study of most of the pioneer dance-makers and performers in the field of contemporary dance in Ireland; and to photograph them in locations that would lend context to the body and suggest a narrative or emotional content to the image, beyond simply the physical/aesthetic. My aim was that each image would be like a still from as movie, an excerpt from a continuing story, rather than simply a visual representation of movement.
